Tom's case study

Are you looking for some inspiration on what our Peak District Pub Tours look like?

Check out his case study to give you a flavour of what we do best!

The challenge was set. A stag group of 30 people!

Tom got in touch with us as he wanted an alternative day and night out for his friend’s stag do. With a strong group of 30, he wasn’t sure what would work. He didn’t want the day and evening to all be about drinking, instead wanting a relaxed and spaced out tour taking in the stunning countryside. We were able to take on all of Tom’s requirements and create a bespoke tour that was ideal for his group, earning us a 5-Star Google Review. We centred his tour around 3 specific stops, with several suggestions for an extra en route pint stop, giving them flexibility and choice.

"Do you cover out of the Peak District?"

One of Tom’s first questions for us was ‘do we cover out of the Peak District’ as his group accommodation wasn’t located there, but they were keen to visit the area. This wasn’t a problem for us as we specialise in making all things possible. There was a small surcharge for picking up and dropping off out of the area, which Tom’s group were really happy with. Although our tours start from 4 hours, Tom really wanted a day and evening experience and opted for a 10-hour experience.

The first (of many!) stops........

As Tom’s group really were on the trail of real ales and good quality beer, we picked out the following pubs for them to visit.

Crown Wharf (Joules Brewery), Crown Street, Stone.

Due to the fact that they were out of area, we researched and found the ideal first stop for Tom’s group.

This characterful and charming pub had lots of outdoor space by a canal and was the perfect start to their tour.

Crown Wharf Brewery Tap, Stone

Part of the Crown Wharf site sits on the original Breweries Dirties Yard and the canal-side location was owned by the Brewery back in the 70’s but never developed. Ever since completing the fourth Joule’s Brewery in Market Drayton back in 2010, Joule’s has been looking for the perfect site to home their Stone Taphouse. None came close to what they were looking for so they decided to build their own, their very first new-build Tap.

Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room, Bakewell

Next stop was a Peak District must in visiting The Taproom at Thornbridge Brewery. Not only is the beer amazing here, but it also has a great vibe and is the perfect place for some stone-baked gourmet pizzas!

Go on, tell us a bit more.......

The Taproom and shop are located in the Riverside Business Park, Buxton Road alongside their Riverside Brewery.

Serving brewery fresh beer across Cask and Keg and handmade pizzas. Check out the pizza menu here.

There’s always a range of Thornbridge beers available for take away as well as gifts and merchandise.

They also stock a range of artisanal, locally sourced meat from the Thornbridge Hall estate, from animals fed on the breweries spent grains.

The Smithfield, Derby

The last stop on their tour was The Smithfield, Meadow Road, Derby.

This award-winning pub has over 50 beers and ciders on offer and is a real must for those looking for that unique pint.

Tom and his group loved their unique Peak District Pub Tour. It proved to be the best day out for a large group wanting a great day and evening out.pp

We’re all about creating your perfect Peak District Pub Tour, and will work with you and your group so that you can have an amazing time too!

It doesn’t have to be amazingly expensive though, and in this case, this 10-hour bespoke tour for 30 people cost just £49pp!!

It's all in the planning.....

We wanted to show a spotlight on Tom’s booking, as it perfectly shows what we’re all about.

We’ll take a brief from you right at the start, and then our route planning experts will get cracking!

We’ll put initial suggestions to you, and make recommendations if you fancy a meal along the way.

We’ll take the time of year into account, as we love adding great beer gardens in the warmer months, and cosy pubs with fireplaces in the colder ones.

You can personally add as much or as little content to your tour as you like. Lots of groups like leaving it all up to us, where others have a defined idea of what they’re looking for.

Whatever you’re looking for, we’ll sort it.

After all, it’s Your Tour, Your Way!
